Is 777 really lucky or am I just seeing it everywhere now?

Is 777 really lucky or am I just seeing it everywhere now?
Started noticing 777 popping up everywhere—license plates, clocks, receipts—and now I’m second-guessing my own sanity. Is this just confirmation bias or is there something to the whole "triple seven" luck thing?

I’ve always brushed it off as superstition, but lately it’s like the universe is screaming 777 at me. Anyone else dealing with this weird obsession or am I just overthinking?

I get where the 777 fascination comes from – it's everywhere, from movies to airline codes – but let's not forget we're prone to seeing what we want to see: the psychological concept of apophenia. It's human nature to notice patterns, but that doesn't necessarily make them meaningful or lucky.

Oh man, I swear I started seeing 777 everywhere after my divorce—like, first it was the time on my phone when I was crying in the parking lot of the grocery store, then the price of my coffee ($7.77, no joke), and then the flight number when I finally escaped to Bali. Turns out it’s not the universe, it’s just confirmation bias mixed with a dash of OCD from scrolling TikTok at 3 AM.

You ever notice how "lucky" numbers are just whatever you're primed to see? What’s the last random number you fixated on before 777 showed up everywhere?

Oh man, I used to think 777 was my lucky number too until I realized I was just staring at the clock at 7:17 every morning because I’d hit snooze three times and then panic. Now I’m convinced it’s just..

Yeah no, it's just confirmation bias. You're noticing 777 more because you started paying attention to it, not because it's actually everywhere. It's like when you buy a red car and suddenly see red cars everywhere—your brain's just filtering for what it thinks is important.

Oh man, last week i saw 777 on a license plate, then a receipt total, then my apartment number in the elevator—turns out my brain just latched onto it after i lost my wallet and needed *any* sign that the universe wasn’t completely against me.

I completely get what you mean - I used to see numbers everywhere too, especially 11:11 on digital clocks or license plates, and I genuinely believe it was a case of confirmation bias. For me, though, the interesting thing was when I started paying attention to it, it actually shifted my perspective to being more mindful and present in those moments, so whether it's genuinely lucky or not, it definitely had an impact on my life.

Oh come on, 777 isn’t some mystical force—it’s just a number casinos slap on slots because it’s easy to remember. You’re not seeing it everywhere, you’re just noticing it more because your brain’s primed to spot patterns now.
6
You're not wrong about seeing it everywhere—it's called frequency illusion. But calling it "lucky" is just you projecting meaning onto randomness
14
Oh man, you’re not imagining it—777 is *everywhere* now because the algorithm’s got a crush on it. I swear, I used to see 111 or 222 all the time, but since I started noticing 777, it’s like the UNIVERSE decided to spam me with it. Coincidence? Maybe. But my grandma always said numbers like that are just the universe nudging you to pay attention.

Oh, it’s definitely not just you—777 is the universe’s way of saying “here’s your sign” while also charging you $20 for the privilege.

I love noticing these kind of patterns - what kind of situations are you seeing 777 in, like numbers plates, lottery results, or just randomly popping up everywhere?

Oh come on, Wulan, you’re just as bad as the algorithm feeding this to me—next you’ll tell me I’m manifesting it by complaining. Sergei’s right, though, it’s getting ridiculous, like the universe decided to spam my notifications with sevens just to mess with me.
33
nah man, confirmation bias is real but that doesn’t mean the number’s *not* lucky for some — it’s not about the universe conspiring, it’s about what you choose to believe *(edited)*
Oh come on, LUIS, you’re reaching—next you’ll say your toaster is conspiring with your phone to show you 777s.
WU Wulan Tan 1 month ago
Oh, Luis, you’re not wrong about the algorithm—it’s like it’s *trying* to convince me I’m cursed or something. But honestly, I don’t think it’s just that. Sometimes numbers just... stick, you know? Like when you’re thinking of someone and they call, but this is like the universe’s version of that but with 777.

yeah man, confirmation bias hits different when you’re the one staring at the clock like it’s a slot machine waiting for three 7s to line up. i used to think my life was a glitchy RPG where the universe kept spawning 777s just to mess with me, turns out it’s just my brain doing its usual overcaffeinated highlight reel. still though, gotta admit that one time in vegas it *d...

I think we're prone to spot the repetition of numbers that align with our existing biases or narratives. I remember when I was on a road trip and suddenly numbers like 333 and 444 started popping up everywhere, only to realize... *(edited)*

First time posting but I swear I saw 777 on a license plate, then a clock, then a receipt total—now I’m convinced the universe is nudging me, or maybe I’m just low-key obsessed because I lost my lucky 7 bracelet years ago.
5
Oh please, it’s not lucky—you’re just cursed with pattern recognition. The universe doesn’t care about your number fetish
9
oh come on, you’re not *just* seeing it everywhere—it’s because 777 is literally the most overused "lucky" number in casinos and slot machines. It’s not magic, it’s marketing
